Edinburgh Realty was formed in 1995 by three established Dunedin property consultants, who wanted to create a company that worked the way that Otago people work: a company that was friendly, listened properly, communicated openly and got on with the job.

Today, Edinburgh Realty has more than 25 property consultants working throughout Otago and a large property management team. Our customer base is built upon years of repeat business and referrals – the ultimate compliment in any company, but particularly appreciated at Edinburgh.

Edinburgh Realty’s three founding directors – Peter Wilson, Mike Elford, and Jim Columb – are all still actively involved in the company. Mike and Jim have stepped back from the board table and Peter Wilson has been joined by Mike Dougherty and Lane Sievwright. Lane has been with Edinburgh for 13 years and concentrates on student rental investments, while Mike joined Edinburgh in 2013 and is part of the Lifestyle and Rural team.

The three company Directors are all very “door open” kind of people. This means they are all accessible to you on a daily basis to bounce ideas off or to just talk real estate in general. Each of the Directors have worked hard to establish and maintain their high functioning real estate careers within Edinburgh. After years of hard work, strategic thinking and making lifelong business connections with people, there isn’t much that they haven’t seen, heard or experienced in real estate. They have also strived to ensure there are only a handful of steps between the staff at the front desk and themselves.
